Expertise in Resource Evaluation

WebFRIS Enterprise™ GIS

Resource managers have too often settled for marginal improvements in information systems, following expensive and challenging upgrades. Further, they struggle to balance the costs and distractions of proprietary systems with the demands and realities of their core mission. Now, the gains in efficiency and productivity brought to many other applications by the Internet are available for forestry. The entire organization can view a standard interface to its forest information system. Local managers access information they need for tactical decisions. Strategists have access to a common database, updated by models they understand and sanction, to perform analyses that will shape the future of their resource management. Administrators easily aggregate information for enterprise-wide reporting. The WebFRIS™ solution changes the way users share, analyze and utilize information.

  The WebFRIS™ GIS Solution
WebFRIS™ GIS is a real-time, web-based, enterprise solution for the management of forest resource information. The system extends the power of GIS throughout an organization with only a standard web browser, eliminating the need for much specialized hardware and software. It significantly reduces the need for internal technical support, so those skills can be redirected toward value-added analyses for better business decisions.

Combining maps, aerial imagery and forest data, WebFRIS™ GIS enables managers to visualize and report on the present condition of resources, the effects of future management plans, and past performance. WebFRIS™ GIS provides the ability to:
