Corporate
Profile
Founded
in 1880, James W. Sewall Company provides comprehensive services
in geographic information management for municipal government,
utilities, and the natural resource industry. The largest and
oldest mapping firm in the Northeast, Sewall is experienced in
GIS development and maintenance, utilities data management, and
natural resource valuation. Sewall has produced natural resource
mapping for more than 15 million acres of land, managed data for
100,000 miles of interstate gas, electric, and telecommunications
systems, and mapped over 850 communities across the nation. Our
success on a wide range of projects is based on core technical
expertise in aerial photography, surveying, photogrammetry, cadastral
mapping, software development, forestry, and engineering.
INTEGRATED
SERVICES
With offices
in Maine, New York, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina
and five aircraft based at two airports, Sewall is equipped to
meet the needs of a diverse and geographically broad client base.
Whether a project requires data capture for highly accurate landbase
development or integrated GIS services, Sewall can respond rapidly
using advanced aerial photography, airborne GPS, and inertial
measurement technologies. Sewall analysts are ready to produce
digital parcel, natural resource, and utilities infrastructure
mapping compatible with existing GIS or to assist clients with
new system development. To reduce the cost of GIS technology entry
and maintenance, Sewall provides enterprise data management services,
including data hosting and on-line maintenance, hardware and software
management, and user application development. Sewall programmers
design customized modular software tools to support utility and
natural resource applications.
TECHNICAL
EXPERTISE
Our most valued
resource is our personnel, some of whom have been with the firm
for over three decades. With a broad range of expertise and years
of project experience, Sewall professionals have earned recognition
for dedicated customer service and superior project performance.
For each project Sewall chooses the best possible combination
of experienced in-house and on-site technical personnel to assess
project requirements, identify project issues, and review performance
results. Sewall staff are known to deliver expertise and service
beyond the specified scope of work.
PROFESSIONAL
STANDARDS
During a century
of service, Sewall has established long-term relationships with
clients based upon high standards, effective communication, and
shared objectives. During every stage of a project, Sewall works
closely with clients to understand thoroughly their expectations
and to meet their unique, specific needs.
To meet project
specifications and contractual requirements, Sewall sets rigorous
standards of control for staff performance and delivered products.
Sewall analysts systematically check data for accuracy, integrity,
and consistency, and senior staff monitor data handling to control
productivity, project cost, and scheduling. Staff training, resource
management, data security maintenance, and cost reporting are
procedures integral to every project phase. At project closure,
Sewall surveys clients to assess their level of satisfaction with
Sewall services and products.
This disciplined
approach to project management has earned Sewall the confidence
of clients throughout the natural resource and utilities industries
and at all levels of government. In fact, the majority of Sewall's
business is with repeat customers.
Sewall is
a business partner with ESRI, Autodesk, Bentley Systems, and Intergraph
