Aerial Photographs

Sewall maintains archives of over 1.2 million aerial photographs, some of which are available for purchase. To view sample photographs in black and white, color, or color infrared, see the selection below. Each of the photographs is linked to a larger image, which may require up to two minutes to open.

On a mission to obtain 12,000 color infrared aerial photographs for a large landowner, Sewall captured this oblique aerial photograph of Mt. Kineo in western Maine (4 October 2002).
Black-and-white aerial photograph (1"=1000' scale) of pipeline right-of-way in Pennsylvania (14 April 2001). PPL Interstate Energy Company contracted Sewall to acquire aerial photography and survey control of the corridor, to produce digital orthophotos, and convert paper-based pipeline data for GIS integration.
Color infrared photograph of the Androscoggin River, Town of Dummer, New Hampshire (27 May 1998). Mead Paper contracted Sewall to capture the photography for the production of covertype mapping. Sewall orthorectified the photography and created a mosaic of the Town.

Flood damage assessment photography (1"=660' scale), Jefferson County, Louisville, Kentucky (8 March 1997). The Louisville & Jefferson County Metropolitan Sewer District requested Park Aerial Surveys to capture a record rainfall of the area for a
100-year flood analysis.

On a mission to acquire aerial photography for the US Department of Agriculture in southwest Washington, Park Aerial captured photos of Mount St. Helens in the Cascades.
Color aerial photography (1"=1000' scale) of eelgrass beds in waters off of Great Cranberry Island, Maine (19 August 1996). Sewall acquired the photography for a Maine Department of Marine Resources water quality assessment project.
